Registered Dietitians (Outpatient)

What is a registered dietitian?

A registered dietitian (R.D.) is specially trained in nutrition and has a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.

Registered dietitians also have received special training and passed a national exam administered by the American Dietetic Association.

Registered dietitians are certified in Indiana and complete continuing education each year. As health care professionals, they are trained to help you with your food and nutrition needs.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

“I lost 65 pounds in 10 months and feel healthier than I have in years because I follow a sensible three-meals-, two-snacks-a day plan. I never feel deprived and eat more variety than ever before.” –Steve

“I had such severe gastroparesis that I thought I was 'allergic' to food. But with the diet plan arranged for me and my lifestyle, I feel 100 percetn better.” –Vicki

“My lipid profile was a wake-up call. With the St. Francis dietitian, my diet now includes foods and exercise that actually lower my LDL level and increase my HDL. I’ve learned how to eat for better health.” –Tom

“At times, I have been surprised at just how much progress my patients have experienced from the dietitians’ care. There have been several occasions when I did not believe my patients’ cholesterol or lipid levels could be lowered to the extent the dietitians accomplished by dietary intervention alone.” –Brian Howse, M.D., referring physician
