Physical therapy helps patients recover from both acute and chronic orthopaedic problems. St. Francis offers inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, sports medicine and occupational hand therapy services. Our therapists use the newest technologies and treatment options to help patients build strength, flexibility and range of motion.
St. Francis Hospital—Mooresville is one of only a few facilities in the state to offer an indoor therapy pool in a hospital setting, enabling us to provide individual aqua therapy and community classes, including arthritis flexibility and parent and child sessions.

Women’s Health Program:
- Licensed physical therapists evaluate and treat a variety of women’s health diagnoses, including:
- urinary/fecal incontinence
- pregnancy-related orthopedic conditions
- chronic pelvic pain.

ASTYM AdvantEDGE:
- Many of our clinicians are certified in ASTYM, a form of non-invasive soft tissue therapy that is designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing process.
Chronic Pain Program:
- Licensed physical therapists provide individualized treatment of chronically painful conditions via manual therapy techniques, including:
- Trigger point release
- Myofascial release
- Soft tissue mobilization
- Strain-counterstrain
- Cranio-sacral therapy.

Custom Orthotics:
- Clients are evaluated and casted in subtalar neutral. Molds are sent to OSI labs for custom fabrication, with general turnaround being two weeks or less. Many insurance providers cover all or some of the cost.
